Had trouble with engine started fine then it ran for about 2 min. then it stared to miss then black smoke would shoot out so often.I tried to increase rpm.made it worse. It died then tried again same thing took place. It's a 332 Deere. It's got 1200 hr.on meter. What would cause this? I think it might be gell of fuel,or could be something else never had this done before.
Thanks

What was the temperature while this was happening? Cold weather can create lots of problems for diesels. I recommend changing the fuel filter first. I would also be sure to get some sort of fuel conditioner for cold weather. A block heater helps immensely. Especially helps with the wear and tear on the battery and starter. If any ice is found in the filter, you might want to drain the fuel and start with new ful in the tank. ....

Diesels are simple. It's either fuel or air...unless something broke, which isn't likely. ....
